Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Charitable Trust
In September 1998 my Grandmother, who I had lived with since the age of 4 years old, was involved in a road traffic accident.

Unfortunately, she did not survive this, but the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance arrived at the scene in record time, and got her to the nearest hospital (16 miles away) in around 5 minutes.

Getting her to hospital so quickly may not have saved her life long term, but it did save her life that day, and they gave us 20 precious days to process what had happened, and we were all able to say goodbye.

Because of this, I have organised various fundraisers over the years to raise money for the air ambulance, which receives no government funding to operate and relies completely on donations and fundraising.

One of my most notable fundraisers was when I planned a "Yellow Day", with eight local schools taking part on the last day of term to wear yellow and donate £1 per child to the air ambulance.

This raised over £2500 for the air ambulance and it was a very memorable day.

LNAACT were very supportive, and sent me lots of pens, helicopter bugs and trolley keyrings to give to supporters.

I have also taken part in sponsored swims and bike rides, and am planning something big this year, 2024, to mark 25 years since the accident and what would have been her 100th birthday - so watch this space!
