Campaigns & Achievements

A selection of campaigns that have been led by my creativity and expertise.

With over 10 years of experience in marketing and PR, my experience is both varied and broad. I have a passion for digital media and have also secured press coverage in both regional and national press.

Here's some of my best work.

Timely Presentation Cancer Awareness Campaign

In January 2024, as part of my work for Bassetlaw Place-Based Partnership, I launched an innovative cancer awareness campaign alongside local cancer charity Aurora Wellbeing, and South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Cancer Alliance.

The campaign has received positive recognition from local partners and organisations as being creative, innovative and thought provoking.

The theme for the campaign focusses on encouraging people to "check their body as much as they check their phone".

Local leisure provider BPL leisure has promoted the campaign on every TV screen in all of their gyms, and we have produced a comms pack and 10,000 bookmarks to further amplify the message.

The Ukrainian War

During my time at BCVS, I was part of the local partnership team that managed the Bassetlaw response to the Ukraine War, which included a dedicated response page and the production of a "Welcome to Bassetlaw" booklet, translated in to 3 languages - English, Russian and Ukrainian. This supported Ukrainian refugees that come to live in Bassetlaw. We ensured that they felt as welcome as possible and the booklet was a big support to them. It contained information, in their language, about schools, health services, how to register at a GP and how to apply for benefits.

Healthy at Home

During the pandemic, whilst at DCLT, I led the implementation of our "Healthy at Home" campaign so that our gym members could continue to stay as active as possible during lockdowns. This included daily zoom fitness classes, healthy recipe cards, encouraging short walks, and giving people tips and ideas about things they could do at home, such as stair exercise, that would help them stay as active as possible. We froze gym membership payments during this time and provided this service free of charge.

Doncaster Community Hub  / Covid Pandemic Response - replace with another campaign

Whilst employed by DCLT, we joined forces with Doncaster Council, Age UK and various other community and voluntary groups to form the Doncaster Community Hub.

All our regular roles were changed in line with the response required to support the Doncaster community.

I continued to lead the communications, raising awareness of which tier we were in and what people were allowed to do.

I also supported the contact centre team as assistant manager for the phone lines that were set up for people to call in and get support and information.

"Healthy at Home" was also a Covid-19 campaign which I led to encourage people to stay as active as possible during the closure of our gyms and leisure centres.

The Cost of Living Crisis

In September 2022, during my time at BCVS, I played a key part in the coordination of our response to the Cost of Living Crisis. This involved working with the local NHS and District Council to produce one of the first Cost Of Living support booklets in the country. In September 2023, we produced an updated edition of the booklet, which also included producing it in Braille (with thanks to support from RNIB).

Paloma Faith Tour 2022

During my time at Liz Hobbs Group, I successfully launched 9 tour dates for Paloma Faith across the UK. This included working with 9 different locations, all with different local radio stations, magazines, OOH locations and newspapers that I connected with to ensure the gig was advertised in each area as widely as possible.

Dancing on Ice

During my time at DCLT, I secured previous Dancing on Ice winner Jake Quikenden as a special guest to Doncaster Dome ice rink. This took place during the Doncaster half-term holidays and was a sell-out day for the ice rink. Jake was great to work with as an influencer.

In 2019. the UCI Worlds came to Doncaster and I was part of the team that facilitated the event at Doncaster Dome Cycle Track, attracting thousands of spectators and school children.

This included large scale risk assessments, working in partnership with local authorities, schools, cycling groups, radio, and TV ensuring the day out for the school children was as memorable as possible.

Deal or no Deal couple receive a personliased Snapjack wedding card

While working at Snapajack Personalised Gifts, I was approached by contestants from Deal or No Deal who appeared on the show alongside Graham and Lyn. They asked us to produce a personalised wedding day card for the couple. This was presented to them on their wedding day and the photo below was used in an article by The Mirror newspaper.

The Pasta Prjoect

During my time at James Retail, we supported a local "Pasta Project" campaign, alongside The Cathedral Archer Project charity to collect bags of pasta for the homeless via donation stations in our stores. We doubled all donations and collected over 600 bags of pasta.

Monty Mammoth

Shortly after joining the team at Creswell Crags, I decided that the organisation needed a mascot, and Monty Mammoth was born. Many years later, Monty is still a very popular addition to the staff team at Creswell Crags and has given the Crags an extra marketing and PR tactic for attracting families and children.

Boy on a Bike

During my time at James Retail, a "boy on a bike" went viral, and we supported his little business and made the most of the virality.

Days of the Year

Days of the Year, and Awareness Months, are a great way to raise the profile of an organisation. I have used these in every organsiation I have worked for.

From Yorkshire Day to LGBT+ History Month to more hard hitting campaigns such as World Suicide Prevention Day and World Mental Health Day, I have ensured that we use awareness days and months to our advantage and in line with our objectives.
